Micheal Owen “puts contract talks on hold”

Reported in The Mirror, it now appears as though Little Mickey has seen sense and has stalled his contract talks with Newcastle United.

According to Mike Ashley, our club captain was offered £105,000 in August to commit to a new contract with the club. However, he has now chosen to put contract negotions on hold until the end of the season. Of course, this has put rival clubs on red alert - Owen is now free to talk to other clubs from January, and leave us for nothing at the end of the season.
